So like, I just realized, it's been a wicked long time since I talked to... ummm, most of you, I guess. My bad! I just kinda didn't feel like hanging out, so, whatever.

What's everyone been doing? I'm bored to the max. Not too psyched about the new event, though, if it's got to do with the mirrors.

[LOCKED FROM LIET]

Umm, by the way, it's like, almost me and Liet's anniversary? And I'm kinda wondering, I don't know, what I should do for it. Like... should I try and make him something, or what? I totally haven't really ever had an anniversary before, so like, um, yeah.

You think that's what this next event is about? Guess that might make sense with those twins, actually.

[It takes a moment for her to add this next part, as she's trying to figure out how to make this PRIVATE.]

The first anniversary is traditionally paper. Well, in the states anyway. Do with that what you will. Seems like a sillier tradition than a turtle on a log but whatever, that's the way traditions are I guess.

Well, like, they were standing with one, and it was their fault last time the mirrors got to mess with us, right? I think that's totally it.

[Private]

For sure? God, that sounds kinda expensive... I mean, I guess I could pull that off here, but I wonder what people who can't afford it do?

From: [identity profile] usskickass.livejournal.com
At least not all the mirrors are awful.

[Private.]

Paper ain't that expensive.

I think I've heard of people just doin' cards, though. Or maybe paper towels, from family members. For your, uh, husband, though, maybe a book would be nice?

Most of them suck pretty bad. I killed mine once, and I'm still mad at him...

[Private]

Paper's, like, wicked expensive in my time. But I guess a book could make sense here...

Yikes. Alright, well, to be fair I don't have one of my own. But I've met one or two who aren't all that bad. Just...different.

[Private]

Yeah, I guess it would be. It's actually gettin' replaced an awful lot in my time, haha. Once you've got computers, paper's not as cool, I suppose.

You don't have one? God, how is that fair?

[Private]

Like, when's that a thing?
From: [identity profile] usskickass.livejournal.com
Guess she hasn't formed yet or...whatever. That or she's really shy.

...It might be the second one, actually.

[Private]

When're computers a thing? Around the 1970's, I guess. We're only startin' to switch off paper by my time, around 2010.

[Hello Poland, you have something in your lap. Might be Lithuania's head.]

[Poland doesn't mind that. He doesn't mind it at all. He pets Liet's hair softly, his fingers actually delicate for once.]

[He's snoring lightly and probably nuzzling Poland's tummy a bit. It's a nice summer's day and their room is shady and comfortable and having his husband close is just very calming.]
From: [identity profile] reckless-eagle.livejournal.com
Mine's... kinda shy-ish? Well. He's kinda a pushover, at least. Except for being mean and skanky. So yeah, I'll totally trade if you want.

[Private]

That's totally weird. Are they like, cheaper than paper?

[Given that they get computing devices for free here and paper is wicked expensive, it's not a stretch in his mind.]

[Poland feels much the same. He's been taking it easy a lot these past weeks, doing the things that are instinctive and natural and easy for him--caring for the horses, working on the vegetable garden, praying, fashion, and staying in with Liet. It's been very calming for him, very assuring, and he feels... quite at peace, really. He rubs Liet's shoulder a little, leaning back against the headboard and setting his device aside.]

...Poland?

[He doesn't open his eyes yet, but as nice as sleeping here is, he feels very awkward just wasting the afternoon away.]

Yeah, gorgeous?

What do you want for dinner?

[Poland shrugs a little.]

Umm, like, something light? Mostly vegetables, I guess? I don't want anything too warm or heavy right now, it's stupid hot.

We could just ask for fruit.

Cherries, cherries!

[Something cool and ripe and sweet-sharp sounds amazing right now.]

Huh. I don't know what my mirror'd be like but I guess...I guess she could be bad news. I don't know if you'd want to trade, in that case.

[Private.]

Not exactly. More like it's more compact? They have these things in my time that can hold thousands of books in them, and they're about the same size as our blackberry-communicator-dealys.

From: [identity profile] reckless-eagle.livejournal.com
The only thing I wouldn't trade for my mirror is like, my husband's mirror. Seriously, that's it.

[Private]

Do they like, shrink them?

Is he really that bad?

[Private]

Uh, no. More like they type them in? I'm not...really sure how it works, now that I think about it. I ain't so techno savvy, haha.

Like, which of them? But the answer's yes, either way.

[Private]

That sounds like it'd take, like, forever.

I guess both. I mean, what've they even done to you?

Probably, yeah. You should probably ask some of the kids, haha, I don't really know.

[Poland looks away from the camera.]

Just like, trust me when I say you don't wanna know? I don't even wanna talk about it...

[Read: There's rape involved :x]

[Private]

I guess I could do that. Anyway, I think a book sounds like it could be a pretty cool idea... it sounds like something he'd like, at least?
